Single Tone

Written by: M. D. Gifford II

Sat down before the TV, late one night
Two men there babbling about, some old man’s frame of mind
Guess he stole the world, then they placed him in a shrine
Defined by generations where, American’s defied

Every time he changed his clothes he was older
Seasoned by the light of days well he was chosen, to be that way

I saw them hang him up, tried to take his life
Revolution is a wicked mind set, there was no place to hide
Guess he found the words, ‘cause he’s still alive
No way no shape nor form, could they break his style

Every time he changed his clothes he was older
Seasoned by the light of days, well he was chosen, to be that way
The only thing that he had was a music note
Constant change would make this world a better, a better, a better home
Ain’t no wonder Dylan made his life on the road

People try to make his mind and life a single tone

The only thing that he had was a music note
Constant change would make this world a better, a better, a better home
Ain’t no wonder Dylan made his life on the road
People try to make his mind and life a single tone
Life a single tone, out on the road, out on the road
